Common questions

Frequently Asked
Questions

How do I set up my master password?

When you first open MedTracker you will be prompted to create a master password. This password encrypts your local database — choose something memorable but strong. It cannot be recovered if lost.

Can I enable fingerprint or face unlock?

Yes. After setting your master password, go to Settings → Security and enable Biometric Unlock. Your device must support fingerprint or face authentication.

Is my data backed up anywhere?

All data is stored exclusively on your device. There is no cloud backup. We recommend exporting a manual backup regularly from Settings → Backup & Restore and storing it somewhere safe.

How do I add a medication?

Tap the Medications tab, then the + button. Enter the medication name, dosage, frequency, and start date. MedTracker will automatically schedule reminders based on your chosen times.

Why am I not receiving reminders?

Check that MedTracker has notification permissions in your device Settings → Apps → MedTracker → Notifications. Also ensure battery optimisation is not blocking the app in the background.

How do I log an appointment?

Tap the Appointments tab and press +. Add the date, time, location, and any notes. MedTracker will send you a local reminder ahead of the appointment — no internet required.

Can I transfer my data to a new phone?

Yes. Use Settings → Backup & Restore to export an encrypted backup file. Transfer it to your new device via any method you prefer, then restore it from the same menu on your new phone.

Does MedTracker work offline?

Yes — entirely. MedTracker requires no internet connection for any of its core features. All data, reminders, and notifications are handled locally on your device.
